Design zen and drafting support for
HAVN Saunas
CHALLENGE: Support the technical development and brand identity of a floating wellness center on repurposed steel barges in Victoria and Vancouver, BC. The project required bridging the gap between complex industrial steelwork and a refined, Nordic-inspired visual language for their media and communication assets.
GRAPHIC DESIGN 3D MODELING DRAFTING
SOLUTION: Leveraging my background in both graphic design and technical drafting, I provided a holistic design approach for HAVN. I was responsible for designing key media and communication kits, establishing a clean, minimalist aesthetic that translates the "design zen" of the physical space into digital and print collateral. This included creating layouts that integrate high-end architectural photography with bold, modern typography to communicate the brand's mission of reshaping built environments.
On the technical side, I resolved complex geometric intersections on the barge itself. A primary focus was the alignment of the steel hull’s circular apertures with the custom cedar sauna units. By calculating the shared radius of these windows, I ensured the glazing and timber work integrated perfectly with the ship's structural steelwork, maintaining a continuous circular aesthetic across disparate materials. Additionally, I designed a custom timber-frame shelter for the main stairwell and provided comprehensive drafting for interior floor plans and various window and door units installed throughout the hull ■
